We answer email within one working day, usually before the shop opens. If it is about a jar that has gone wrong, send a photograph and the date you planted it — that is normally enough to work out what happened.

The green door between the bakery and the bicycle repair shop. The bench is in the window — knock if the sign says closed and the light is on.

Workshop booking
Two and a half hours, one jar, eight seats.
You pick a vessel from the shelf, plant it with one of us beside you, and seal it before you leave. Tools, moss, substrate, springtails and something from the bakery are all included, and the finished jar goes home in a box.
- £65 a place, or £240 for four — the price includes the vessel
- Groups of six or more can book a weekday evening, a fortnight ahead
- Children from eight are welcome with an adult; the tools are sharp
- Cancel up to 72 hours before and we move you to another date, no charge
