About

We got tired of watching good products lose to bad websites.

Foundryline is three people in Austin and Lisbon. We build small websites for people who just started something and cannot afford to get it wrong.

Why we exist

Most of us started somewhere embarrassing. A Google Doc with prices on it. A link-in-bio page that went nowhere. A DM that said "just send me a message to order".

The gap is not talent. It is that the web design industry is built around people who already have money. Agencies want $15,000 and six weeks and a discovery phase. Freelance marketplaces sell you a $50 template that nobody can edit and that breaks on an iPhone.

There is nothing in the middle. So we made the middle: fixed prices, short timelines, real people, and someone who tells you when the cheap package is enough.

Our rule is simple. If we would not spend our own money on it, we do not sell it to you.

What we will not do

  • Quote you after a "discovery call"
  • Lock your site into a platform you cannot leave
  • Charge you for a redesign because we got bored
  • Put a fake countdown timer on your sales page
  • Tell you that you need the $3,200 package when you need the $390 one
  • Keep your domain in our name

Every one of those is a thing we have watched happen to clients at previous jobs. That is the list we built this studio to avoid.

The three of us

Small on purpose.

Sam Okafor

Founder — design and build

Started building sites for a friend's food truck in 2016 because nobody else would do it for under a thousand dollars. Has built 60+ storefronts since, most for people who had never sold anything online before.

Answers every email. Also answers the phone, which surprises people.

Priya Raman

Copy and brand voice

Eight years in agencies writing about "synergistic solutions". Left, and now writes product pages that sound like a person explaining why they made something.

Will ask you what your customer is afraid of. It is the most useful question on any project.

Marco Vidal

Build and integrations

Payments, shipping zones, tax rules, email automations. The unglamorous work that decides whether a store actually takes money on launch day.

Has personally placed a test order on every site we have ever shipped.

How we work

Five habits that keep projects boring, in a good way.

You see it early

A live link on day two, not a reveal at the end. Surprises belong at birthdays, not in web projects.

The price is the price

If we underestimate the work, we eat it. You agreed to a number and that number stands.

Plain English only

No "above the fold", no "responsive breakpoints", no acronyms you have to nod along to. If we cannot explain it simply, we do not understand it well enough.

You keep the keys

Domain, hosting, code, and content are in your name from the first day. If you fire us, nothing breaks.

We say no

Wrong fit, wrong budget, wrong timeline — we tell you in the first email rather than three weeks in.

Fast is a feature

A site that loads in two seconds sells more than a beautiful one that loads in six. We optimise for the phone in someone's hand on a bus.

That is the whole studio.

If it sounds like the right fit, tell us what you sell. If it does not, we hope the site you end up with is a good one.
